Ampersand has been awarded a £7m catering contract at the Museum of London Docklands.

The caterer will create a new visitors café, operate the public bar and restaurant as well all daytime events as part of the five-year deal. In addition, Ampersand has been added to the list of approved caterers for evening events.

Paul Jackson, managing director of Ampersand, said it was a privilege to look after the catering for the Museum of London Docklands and added that the company has been inspired by the rich history of the area to feature local, seasonal ingredients.

"Working seamlessly with the venue's event team and with the support of our own event solutions arm, It's The Agency, we hope to grow the event side of the business further," he added.

Elizabeth James, head of hospitality at the Museum of London Docklands, said: "We were impressed by Ampersand's dynamic approach to refreshing the menus at the visitor café, public bar and restaurant and we are looking forward to welcoming guests to these exciting new spaces."

The Museum of London Docklands, which traces the 2,000-year history of London's river, port and people, is located over five floors of a late Georgian warehouse - Canary Wharf's only Grade 1-listed venue.
