The Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland is seeking nominations for its coveted lifetime achievement award.

Sponsored by Caterer and Hotelkeeper, the HIT Scotland industry award recognises an individual who shows dedication to raising standards and a passion for the industry that goes beyond their job description.

Nominees can work in any sector of the Scottish hospitality, catering, leisure and tourism industry. Past winners have been both household names and unsung heroes, from lecturers to hotel chiefs.

The winner will be unveiled at the charity’s industry dinner on 18 March.

Guests will be in for a culinary treat with a dinner prepared by Michelin-starred chefs Martin Wishart and Geoff Bland. More than 400 guests are expected to attend the event held at Glasgow’s Radisson Blu hotel in the city centre.

Money from the event will benefit HIT Scotland, a charity working to raise professional aspirations across the hospitality industry. It has raised over £2 million since its inception in 1994.

Mark Lewis, group editor of Caterer and Hotelkeeper said: “Now, more than ever, the hospitality industry needs extraordinary individuals to act as exemplars and embody a dedication to the industry that their peers can aspire to. Each successive winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award has done just that.”

Nominations are now open. If you know someone who you feel deserves the award, please contact david.cochrane@hitscotland.co.uk with a short personal note about why you think they should receive the award by midnight on 4 March.
