A restaurant operator is being sought for a new bridge in the city of Hull which will be completed in late 2009.

Expressions of interest in the site, which describes itself as ‘bistro on the bridge’ are being welcomed from independent and national operators. A 15 year lease on the 3,300 square foot unit is being offered which will be available for fit out in autumn 2009.

The bridge will be the centre-piece of a £53m programme to redevelop the East Yorkshire city and will link 300 one and two bedroom apartments and 1,113 square metres of retail space with the city centre. The site, on the East Bank of the river Hull will be known as the Boom.

John Holmes, chief executive of Hull Citybuild, said: “The ‘bistro on the bridge’ represents a stunning opportunity for a high quality operator to be part of the revitalisation of Hull’s historic waterfront.

“Given the characteristics of the area the demand exists from early morning through to late evening. With this in mind we believe this will be particularly attractive to brasserie and bistro style operators. We certainly want a top quality offer to serve the many visitors we get to the Museums Quarter and wider Old Town area.”
