UK's first Residence Inn by Marriott to open in Edinburgh

Marriott is to launch a new brand into the UK with the opening of the first Residence Inn by Marriott in Edinburgh.

Due to be launched in late summer 2011, the 107-bedroom apartment hotel forms part of the £450m Quartermile development.

There are currently more than 600 Residence Inns, which are aimed at long-stay travellers, worldwide. They provide spacious suites with separate living and sleeping areas, fully equipped kitchens, a free grocery delivery service, Wi-Fi and in-room internet access and a complimentary hot breakfast.

Amy McPherson, president and managing director of Marriot in Europe, said: "We are thrilled to announce our first Residence Inn in the United Kingdom here in Edinburgh and see great potential for further development of the brand throughout Europe."
