Latest figures show UK hotel market now worth £3.65b

The average hotel room in the UK now earns around £21,870 a year, just £1,500 below the average UK wage of £23,400, according to consultancy PKF.

PKF estimates that the hotel industry in the UK is now worth around £3.65b.

According to the British Hospitality Association, the UK now has around 22,000 hotels and guesthouses registered with local tourist boards. This figure rises to about 60,000 when unregistered properties are added.
