Sourdough bread from Delice de France

Created in the USA by chef Nancy Silverton, the La Brea Bakery range of artisan sourdough breads is available from Delice de France. The basis of each loaf is a sourdough "starter", a mixture of flour, water and organic grapes, which contains natural yeasts that allow the dough to rise slowly. The range includes 13 loaves, baguettes and rolls, such as Roasted Garlic Loaf, containing whole cloves of roasted garlic, and Pecan Raisin Loaf. Other recently launched products include ready-to-bake cherry tomato and oregano focaccia bread, available in a flat 850g focaccia sheet and a smaller 350g panfocaccia "slipper" shape; four Arctic flatbreads varying in size from 50g to 175g, made to a Scandinavian recipe and naturally low in fat; and a high-fibre, low-fat 85g Healthy Option Bagel.
