Gluten-free tårta from Almondy

Almondy tårta with Daim

With one in 10 consumers wanting to see more gluten-free bakery choices, Almondy's range of almond tårta allows caterers to offer coeliacs a selection of safe but tasty desserts.

The frozen cakes use an almond base inspired by a 19th-century Swedish recipe and are free of preservatives and additives as well as gluten. Supplied whole or precut into 12 slices, they will defrost in just 10 minutes and last for up to a week in the chiller.

Choices include the original Almondy tårta with buttercream; Chocolate or Dark Chocolate varieties with chocolate cream; and the best-selling milk chocolate-covered Almondy tårta with Daim (buttercream and almond caramel), and Almondy tårta with Snickers (butter nougat cream, caramel and roasted peanuts).

Two fruit variants using the almond base are Almondy Cheesecake Lemon and Almondy Cheesecake Raspberry.
