Jammie Dodgers Snack and Maryland Munch barsBiscuit supplier Burton's Foods has extended its top-selling cookie and children's biscuit brands into the œ306m cereal bar market with the debut of Maryland Munch Bars and Jammie Dodgers Snack Bars.

Jammie Dodgers Snack Bars marry the appeal of the original with a portion-controlled format aimed at five- to 12-year-olds. The chewy bar combines rice crispies, biscuit, fruit pieces and a Jammie Dodger-flavoured fruit filling.

The Munch Bars - which will benefit from a £1m advertising campaign starting this month - are made of cookie pieces, wholegrain cereal and chocolate chips.

The bars are sold in retail packs of six, but differing formats - including catering packs and single bars - will follow.
