New research has found that most people in England and Wales support a full ban on smoking in public places.
A survey of 1,000 people conducted by polling firm BMRB found that 73% backed a law to make all enclosed workplaces - including pubs and restaurants - smoke-free.
The poll, commissioned by Cancer Research UK and Action on Smoking and Health, also found that 85% of those surveyed would visit bars and pubs more often if they had outlawed smoking.
