Grange Hotels' tsunami disaster appeal has raised nearly £100,000 to build two orphanages for up to 200 homeless children in Sri Lanka.
Each orphanage will include a therapy and medical centre to help displaced children who have lost their parents to recover from the disaster.
The first orphanage will be built near Weligama in southern Sri Lanka and the other will be located on the south-east coast.
The appeal has also funded two community schemes helping displaced children deal with the trauma.
Tony Matharu, managing director of Grange Hotels and chairman of the appeal, said the orphanages would provide a legacy of the hospitality industry's response.
"We are grateful for all the support we have received - once again the industry has demonstrated that something positive can result from tragedy."
The appeal, supported by the British Hospitality Association and VisitLondon, raised money through a variety of fundraising events, including a gala dinner and concert at the Grange City hotel.
