Supplier press release: New environmentally friendly cleaning chemicals from Winterhalter

Tuesday 25 October 2011 15:48

Hygiene is important in any foodservice application but it is especially so in hospitals and care homes where the catering is for the vulnerable. In these settings the utmost care must be paid to cleanliness to prevent the transference of germs. However, very strong cleaning chemicals tend to have a negative impact on the environment.

Winterhalter has added some environmentally friendly products to its range of cleaning chemicals. All the new products are based on detergents, biocides or solvents derived from plants. However they still deliver sparkling clean results and can be relied on to provide the utmost in terms of hygiene.

The use of the correct cleaning chemical optimises all hygiene procedures including dishwashing, glasswashing, pot washing, oven cleaning and surface cleaning. Winterhalter can help care homes and hospitals develop the necessary hygiene programme to ensure regulations are met and everything is sparkling clean and germ free. The company also provides support and training as necessary.

Winterhalter has developed a new powdered detergent rejuvenator to remove rinse aid film from glasses and extend their working life. This rejuvenator can also be used to pre-treat new glassware removing all traces of chemicals used in glass manufacture, especially the mould release agents, so they are safe to for staff, patients and visitors.

Limescale in hard areas always causes problems both in the warewashers and with mineral deposits left on the items that have been washed. To counteract this Winterhalter has introduced the Diamond 2000 detergent for hard water use. Meanwhile the Sapphire 2000 rinse aids for dishwashers contain a blend of low-foaming surficants used in the final rinse, to give fast drying.

The new Winterhalter cleaning products are not just for warewashing. There is a Floor Maintainer which contains specially blended waxes to give a highly polished slip resistant finish when burnished with a high speed polishing machine. This is especially suitable for public areas that need to look smart and ‘just polished’ without the associated slipping factor.

Winterhalter provides a total solution for warewashing, from pre-sales advice to after-sales service, training and maintenance.  Alongside its market-leading dish and glasswashers, the company’s range includes utensil washers, advanced water treatment machines, cleaning chemicals and detergents.  For further details, call Winterhalter on 01908 359000, see www.winterhalter.co.uk, or www.winterhalter-scout.biz or email info@winterhalter.co.uk.
