Yalla Yalla to open six-month Shoreditch pop-up ahead of expansion next year
Lebanese and Middle Eastern street food group Yalla Yalla is set to open a six-month pop-up restaurant in Shoreditch, ahead of further expansion next year.
Yalla Yalla, which currently has two restaurants in the West End, will open the pop-up on Shoreditch High Street next month. It follows the group's summer shack pop-up on the South Bank.
The Shoreditch pop-up will accommodate up to 50 diners with cushioned low-level seating as well as tables and stools. There will be Lebanese lounge music, belly dancers and live DJs at the weekend.
The menu will offer Yalla Yalla's signature Lebanese and Middle Eastern street food menu, including hot mezze to share, grilled meats, dips, salads and pastries, next to a drinks list of Lebanese wines and beers as well as cocktails.
Yalla Yalla is owned by partners chef Jad Youssef and Aga Ilska and first opened three years ago, with its restaurant on Green's Court in Soho. The second site, in Winsley Street near Oxford Circus, followed in 2010 and the group kiosk on the mezzanine level of the new concourse at King's Cross station.
Yalla Yalla hopes to expand in 2013, with two new sites in central London earmarked to open next spring.
