Richard and Dee Slade, owners of the Magnesia Bank pub at North Shields, Tyneside, have bought the Battlesteads Hotel, in Wark, Northumberland.
The traditional country hotel is sited in the North Tyne Valley on the edge of the Northumberland National Park.
Its 14 en-suite bedrooms include four modern ground floor rooms designed for use by the disabled. Other features include a public bar with beams and an open fire, dining areas, a private car park and a large walled rear garden.
The Leeds office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the freehold for a sum close to the asking price of £650,000.
