Haggis lasagneCaterers can add a Scottish flavour to their menus with Southover Food's new meat and meat-free haggis products.

The Macsween of Edinburgh Haggis is made from a traditional family recipe combining lamb, beef, oatmeal and onions with a blend of spices and seasoning and cooked in a natural casing.

Winner of three Gold Taste Awards, the haggis is available in a range of sizes.

The mini six-pack haggis is suitable for canap‚s and starters, and a 1/2lb pack can be used for an individual serving.

Also available are the new 3lb special catering pack and the 8lb ceremonial haggis, traditionally served on Burns Night.

Southover Food says that the haggis can be used in a number of recipes, from delicate canapés and spicy pakoras to lasagne.

The Vegetarian Haggis has a nutty texture and is made from a vegan-friendly blend of kidney beans, lentils, nuts and fresh vegetables, combined with oatmeal and onions and seasoning and served in a manmade casing.

The vegetarian haggis is available in mini packs, with 1/2lb, 1lb and 11/2lb sizes also available in addition to the new 3lb catering pack.
