Stewart Jarvie is accepted into the Master Chefs of Great Britain club

Stewart Jarvie, executive head chef at the Tempus restaurant and the George Hotel in Edinburgh, has been accepted into the Master Chefs of Great Britain club.

Jarvie, who has more than 21 years of experience in the industry, was nominated for the title by his colleagues and after a rigorous interview process was accepted as a full member by the prestigious association.

Master Chefs of Great Britain, which is made up of the most notable head chefs, chef-patrons and head pastry chefs around the country, is supported by some of the industry's leading suppliers and aims to train and develop young chefs and to promote the best produce available in Britain.

Commenting on his award, Jarvie said: "I am delighted to be accepted as a full member of the Master Chefs of Great Britain. As a young chef it was always my ambition - I am truly honoured."

He added: "I am proud to emphasise the use of locally sourced, seasonal foods when preparing my menus for Tempus; I hope to use my skills and expertise to train and develop the chefs of tomorrow."
