Bordeaux Médoc Château Les Grands Chênes from Charles Matthews

Monday 26 January 2009 00:00
Wine "composer" Bernard Magrez has introduced the Bordeaux Médoc Château Les Grands Chênes to the UK wine market.

The 2006 vintage (13% abv) is characterised by rich fruit aromas and blackcurrant flavours, with notes of tobacco, minerals and spices.

The grapes, including Cabernet Sauvignon (45%), Merlot (50%) and Cabernet Franc (5%), are collected by hand and undergo an 18-month ageing process in new French oak barrels.

The wines are produced at the Château Les Grands Chênes vineyard, located in the village of Saint-Christoly du Médoc.
