New Zealand Pathway wines from DGB

Monday 26 January 2009 00:05
Pathway Pinot NoirPathway is the new label from Marlborough producer Winegrowers of Ara that currently offers a Sauvignon Blanc 2008 and Pinot Noir 2008.

The wines have been produced by the company's head winemaker, Dr Damian Martin, using grapes sourced from all areas of the Ara vineyard terrace.

The 12.9% abv Sauvignon Blanc is described as having lively citrus and tropical fruit aromas, delivered with a clean, refreshing finish.

The 13% abv Pinot Noir is supple, with sweet berry fruit aromas, light spice notes and a savoury finish.

The 1,500-hectare vineyard at Ara (385 hectares currently planted) lies at the confluence of Marlborough's Wairau and Waihopai rivers on an extensive river terrace which is older than most New Zealand alluvial soils.
