Jamie's Italian

Jamie Oliver is further expanding his high street restaurant chain Jamie’s Italian, with a 13th outlet planned for Bristol next year.

The celebrity chef, who launched the Italian restaurant group nearly two years ago, currently operates eight outlets in the South of England and Cardiff, with further restaurants set to open in Reading, Leeds, Glasgow, and London in the coming months, and in Liverpool this June.

In addition Jamie’s Italian has submitted plans to Bristol City Council to turn part of what is currently Blackwell's Bookshop in Park Street into a three-floor restaurant and shop.

Simon Blagden, managing director of Jamie's Italian, told the Bristol Evening Post the group was very interested in expanding into Bristol.

"We would very much like to open in Bristol and this seems a perfect location for us," he said.

Jamie Oliver launched the first Jamie’s Italian restaurant in Oxford in spring 2008 and has garnered wide critical acclaim for its authentic Italian menu at affordable prices.

In addition to the UK operations, Oliver is expanding Jamie’s Italian to Asia. Hong Kong-based Tranic Franchising has partnered with Oliver's company to roll the concept out across the continent, with the first restaurant to launch in Hong Kong in the first half of this year.
