Eurest to feed Unisys staff in Liverpool
Eurest, the staff catering arm of Compass, has secured a five-year contract to feed 900 employees at Unisys Insurance Services in Liverpool, which will turn over £250,000 per year. As well as running the 80-seat staff restaurant, Eurest provides a full vending and office cleaning service.

Talkington Bates wins three contracts that will turn over nearly £600,000 a year
Buckinghamshire-based contract caterer Talkington Bates has scooped three new contracts with a combined annual turnover of £595,000. Two one-year rolling contracts to provide catering, vending and hospitality services start this month. The first, which will turn over £195,000 per year, is to cater for 180 students and 90 staff at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. The second, with an annual turnover of £275,000, involves catering for 700 staff at building supplier Travis Perkins' head office in Nottingham. The third contract, which will turn over £125,000 per year, runs for two years from February. Talkington Bates will run a staff restaurant and provide vending and hospitality services for the 250 staff employed by garden and landscape machinery manufacturer Hayter in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire.

Medirest keeps three hospital contracts
Compass Group’s healthcare division, Medirest, has re-won the contract to cater at Southend Hospital, Essex, where it has operated for the past four years. The new five-year contract to feed up to 900 patients and 1,000 staff and visitors each day will turn over £1.4m per year and starts in February. It follows the retention of contracts at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust and Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Trust. The new five-year contracts will turn over £8.6m and £1.2m per year respectively.
 
SSP extends its business at Oslo International Airport
SSP, the airport catering division of Compass, has clinched a new contract to run all the food and beverage outlets in the departures area of Oslo International Airport in Norway. The seven-year deal, which will turn over around €25m (£17.4m) per year, will take the total number of units operated by SSP at the airport to 25. New outlets to open between March and August include a convenience store, a Caffé Ritazza and two units themed around Oslo’s Vigeland sculpture park.

Holroyd Howe adds £1.5m to annual turnover in 2004
Independent caterer Holroyd Howe added £1.5m to its turnover in 2004 thanks to new contracts with alternative investment provider the Man Group, IT solutions company Steria, and advertising agency TWA, along with increased business with advertising agency McCann-Erikson and the retention of the contract with the Brit School. The group now has an annual turnover of £24m and operates 28 sites, predominantly in South-east England.

Scholarest retains contract at Kent school
Scholarest has added 10 years to the contract it has held at Homewood School and Sixth Form in Tenterden, Kent, since 1996. The renewed contract, which will turn over £400,000 per year, will provide breakfast, breaktime and lunchtime catering for 2,100 pupils until 2014. The Compass subsidiary is doubling the size of the current dining hall to create a 600-seat conservatory-style dining room, as well as introducing its Choices Café and an interactive chef’s theatre.
