Article ThumbnailBoutique hotel group Malmaison has finally found a site in Liverpool to open its 10th hotel.

The company, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, will open an 11-storey, 131-bedroom hotel in Liverpool's Princes Dock in summer 2006. Approval for the site has yet to be given, but the group expects to start construction work before the end of the year.

Managing director Robert Cook said: "We are very excited to be able to develop our first new-build in Liverpool and on such a great waterfront site. The hotel will include a funky bar and brasserie and lifestyle-designed bedrooms and suites, bringing the next-generation Malmaison product to the future European city of culture."

In December, Malmaison officially opens the Malmaison Belfast, its first hotel in Northern Ireland. It will also open a hotel in Oxford in autumn 2005.

Malmaison's birthday celebrations will kick off on 10 September at its first hotel in Edinburgh.
