What the proposed hotel would look like
Boutique hotel chain Malmaison is to operate a new 131-bedroom hotel at Liverpool's Prince's Dock, the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company announced today.

The development, which is subject to planning approval, is scheduled for completion by summer 2006.

Planning consent had previously been obtained for a similar-sized hotel on the site, but 41 luxury apartments have now been added.

Malmaison has seven UK hotels with an eighth set to open in Belfast later this year and another in Oxford in 2005.

The chain celebrates its tenth anniversary in September.
