New look for cranks

Wednesday 28 July 2004 16:37

Vegetarian food pioneer Cranks is relaunching its range of sandwiches and organic breads under the banner "Eat Good, Feel Good", which is available to both retail and food service. The aim is not just to appeal to vegetarians but also the 33% of consumers the company reckons want to cut down on their meat intake.

Sandwiches, made with such breads as wholemeal, malted brown and tomato, include Eggstatic (free-range egg and mayonnaise); Houmungously Crunchy (crunchy hummus salad); Cheesy Gonzales (mature Cheddar, tomato and guacamole); Cheddar Gorge (mature Cheddar and apple chutney salad); Hey Pesto (green pesto salad); and Waldorful (Waldorf salad). The company can also provide organic wholemeal, and honey-and-sunflower sliced bread.

Price: Sandwiches from £1.60 to £1.80
