TurboChef TornadoThe US-made TurboChef trio of programmable ovens are the launchpad products for Taylor UK's move into the rapid-cook sector, joining its existing lines of ice-cream and cold drinks equipment.

The ovens use a patented combination of variable high-speed impinged hot air, microwave power and a temperature-controllable infrared browning element in the base for rapid baking, roasting, browning, steaming or grilling.

As a result, they can cook a whole roast chicken in as little as 12 minutes and a pizza in two minutes.

All three stainless-steel stackable ovens use a recirculating catalytic convertor that, by removing grease from the hot air, also removes the need to vent the ovens.

The Tornado is said to cook 12 times faster than conventional ovens, while the C3 and High H Batch can cook at 10 times and five times conventional speeds.

The Tornado provides variable cooking surfaces, such as racks, stones and platters, and has a menu system that can store up to 128 recipes.

The C3, which comes with a ceramic cooking platter, can store up to 64 menus, while the High H Batch features an oscillating rack and a 72-recipe menu.
