Quality of food most important to party goers

Tuesday 26 September 2006 13:24

Alcohol, perhaps surprisingly, is not the main thing on the mind of office party goers, according to a new survey.

EventWise, an event organising company, questioned 500 event organisers about what customers wanted from a do.

Three quarters (75%) of punters said the quality of food was the most important thing at a party, not the booze, which 37% put at the top of their list.

Atmosphere and entertainment were also rated highly, with 62% saying this was of vital importance for a successful office party.

And no doubt full of seasonal cheer, 94% said shared Christmas parties, where other firms are present, were favourable to smaller private affairs.

EventWise managing director Penny Ellis said: “Shared parties are popular with smaller groups because they make budgets go a lot further.”
