Gordon Ramsay to enter Hotel Hell

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay will be checking into Hotel Hell for his latest television project.

Having previously directed his attention at failing restaurants for Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Ramsay will now be turning his attention to struggling hotels, mediocre motels and bad bed and breakfasts across the USA.

From dirty bedrooms and mold-ridden bathrooms to incompetent staff or customer service that's not up to par, Ramsay and his team will work with the hotel employees to turn the hapless establishments around.

The unscripted series is being made by One Potato Two Potato, the company founded by Ramsay and Optomen Television in 2008 to create and produce programmes worldwide, and will be screened on Fox.

Mike Darnell, president of Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, said that whatever the premise, Ramsay delivered every time. "With an unprecedented three shows already on the air, Gordon is an incredible television success, and we're really thrilled to put him through Hotel Hell on Fox."

Ramsay added: "These are stories that everyone can relate to, because virtually all of us have had a bad hotel experience that has turned a holiday or business trip into a total disaster. It's time to put the hospitality industry to the test."

Ramsay has experienced his own hotel hell around the world with the closure of Maze restaurants in hotels in Prague, Cape Town and Melbourne. He has also sold restaurants in hotels in Paris and New York, and lost the contract to run the restaurant at the Connaught hotel in London.

However, in London, Gordon Ramsay Holdings continues to operate restaurants at the Savoy, Claridge's and the Marriott on Grosvenor Square, as well as own and run the 10-bedroom boutique hotel, the York & Albany. His latest restaurant, Bread Street Kitchen, at One New Change in London, opened today.
