Alpha Airport loses contract after 30 years
British in-flight caterer Alpha Airports has lost its contract to provide in-flight catering on 70% of flights operated by UK charter airline Thomsonfly. The contract, which Alpha has run for 30 years and turns over £21m per year, will be taken over by LSG Skychefs in April 2006. LSG previously catered for the remaining 30% of Thomsonfly’s flights but has now taken over the whole operation. The new three-year deal is expected to turn over about £26m per year.

Directors Table wins £200k contract with law firm
Sodexho executive fine dining division Directors Table has won a three-year contract to provide staff and hospitality catering at the Sheffield site of law firm Nabarro Nathanson in South Yorkshire. The deal will turn over £200,000 per year and serve up to 200 employees. Eight Directors Table staff will work on the contract, which was previously held by Avenance.

Sodexho adds West Yorkshire police to books
Sodexho has won the hospitality and vending contract for the 5,500-strong West Yorkshire police force. The deal, which will turn over £1.1m a year, will see 23 Sodexho staff work at the site in Wakefield. The contract was previously run by Compass business and industry division Eurest.

Hymers College selects Wilson Vale catering
Independent caterer Wilson Vale Catering has won the contract to provide catering and vending services at Hymers College in Hull, Humberside. The deal, which will turn over about £450,000 per year, will see 14 Wilson Vale staff serve 1,100 pupils and teachers. The contract was previously run by Sodexho.

Sodexho extends contract with London law firm
Sodexho has extended its catering contract with London legal firm Weil, Gotshal and Manges for five years. The deal, which will turn over about £300,000 per year, will see four Sodexho staff serve up to 200 company employees.
