Artizian has become the latest contract caterer to join the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA).

The company joins other caterers including Eden, Bite, Searcys, Bartlett Mitchell and Peyton and Byrne in signing up to the association.

Artizian has committed to undergoing the SRA's star rating process, which will examine all of its contracts. As a member of the SRA it will also commit to a number of initiatives from the SRA shortlist in three areas: sourcing, environment and society.

Alison Frith, owner and managing director of Artizian, commented: "We only want to work with companies with strong ethics, that understand the social and ethical impacts that we have and how important it is to us to offer food which can be traced right back to where it came from.

"Today's consumer is ever changing: they expect clear messages relating to the food and drink they buy. We are looking forward to working with the SRA and to receiving their expert advice."

Mark Linehan, managing director of the SRA, added: "We are delighted to be working with Artizian, which has become the latest in a growing number of contract caterers that are seeing the benefits in of improving the sustainability of the work that they do."
