St John Hotel placed into administration
The St John Hotel off Leicester Square in London's West End has been placed into administration.
Timothy John Edward Dolder and Trevor John Binyon of RSM Tenon Recovery were appointed joint administrators of St. John Chinatown Limited last week.
The hotel and restaurant, which last month gained a Michelin star, is the first hotel project from the team behind the iconic St John restaurant in Smithfield, chef Fergus Henderson and restaurateur Trevor Gulliver. It is housed on the former Manzi's site comprising a ground-floor St John restaurant and first-floor bar as well as 15 bedrooms, including a two-bedroom top-floor suite.
The St John Hotel opened in April last year, months behind schedule after the duo ran into difficulties with the rebuild of the property. "Ouch, it was a long and tough road, a difficult project with construction, design and economic issues," Henderson and Gulliver said on the St John Hotel website.
The affairs, business and property of the St. John Chinatown Limited are now being managed by the joint administrators who act as agents of St. John Chinatown Limited.
