The new LaundrOzone ozone laundry system from Girbau UK and its service division JHC Laundry Equipment offers significant savings because it washes well with cold water, requires only short wash cycles and drying times, and is gentler on linens.
As a result, the company claims it can save 30-50% in electricity consumption, 40-60% in hot water use and 10-30% in detergent volumes. Indirect savings include 25-35% in gas consumption, more than 25% in labour costs, and a 20-30% extension to the life span of linens.
The four-AA-red-star Swinton Park hotel in North Yorkshire, an early adopter of the LaundrOzone, anticipates savings of £100,000 over the next five years along with a three-year (instead of a two-year) life for its linens.
