Three more years
Contract caterer Sodexho has extended by three years its contract with West Sussex County Council to provide lunches at 235 primary schools across the county. The contract, which has an annual turnover of about £2m, sees Sodexho provide 3,500 packed lunches a day.
Needs will be met
Facilities management and infrastructure services group Jarvis has won the contract to design, build and operate three special educational needs high schools for Salford City Council. As well as building the schools, expected to be complete by September, Jarvis will provide catering, cleaning, maintenance and security services. The 25-year deal has an annual turnover of about £2.25m.
Webster is top boy
Education caterer Scolarest has awarded its Chef of the Year 2003 title to Gary Webster, head chef at St John's School in Leatherhead, Surrey. He won the award in a one-hour cook-off against six other Scolarest chefs. As well as the title, Webster won £500 and a bottle of Champagne.
