Scottish hotels outperformed those in London and the rest of the UK in 2005, according to TRI Hospitality Consulting's latest report, Hotels 2006 UK.
Scotland's popularity for weekend breaks helped revenue per available room (revpar) to grow by 14% to £48.26, led by a 16% rise in Aberdeen.
The July bombings undercut a potentially strong year for London hotels, with occupancy in the capital falling by 1.1 percentage points to 76.7%, although average room rate grew by 6.6% to £102.53.
Tri is forecasting a 2007 revpar of £89.44 in London and £45.47 in the rest of the country.
