Gordon Ramsay was among a host of top chefs taking part in this year's London Marathon, although he was by no means the fastest.
Taking first place of the hospitality contenders was Phil Howard of London's the Square restaurant, who clocked an impressive time of three hours and 15 minutes in his 10th marathon. Ramsay was second, completing the 26.2 mile run in three hours and 46 minutes.
Chris Wheeler from Stoke Park Club, Buckinghamshire, took a little longer to finish, but he had a good excuse. Dressed as a chef and flipping a pancake for the entire route, he finished in six hours and 50 minutes.
Simon Dow, executive chef at Exeter's Abode hotel, finished in four hours and 11 minutes.
Ramsay ran for the Scottish Spina Bifida Association, Howard for Children With Leukaemia, and Wheeler and Dow for Get Kids Going.
