Local licensees buy top Cornish inn

Trengilly Wartha Inn

Local licensees have acquired the Trengilly Wartha Inn at Constantine in one of Cornwall’s wealthiest and most sought-after areas.

New owners William and Lisa Lea, who previously ran the Three Tuns at St Keverne, bought the inn off a guide price of £1.4m.

The property sits in nearly five acres of land among wooded valleys alongside the Helford river.

Along with eight letting bedrooms, the inn offers a 28-seat à la carte restaurant, a large low-beamed main bar and a conservatory-style non-smoking family room.

It also provides extensive private accommodation in the form of a separate three-bedroom house and a four-bedroom flat, both with their own private gardens.

The inn has been run for the past 16 years by two families headed by Mike Maguire and Nigel Logan, who will now focus on their wine-importing business, Wine in Cornwall.

The Plymouth office of Colliers Robert Barry marketed the property.
