Sat Bains as inventive as Heston Blumenthal, says critic

The Daily Telegraph’s Jasper Gerard believes the chef-proprietor of the eponomously named Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham” might just be the most wildly inventive chef to emerge from Britain since Heston Blumenthal”.

Gerard says Sat Bains is one of the country’s most compelling restaurants. Adding: “How it only has one Michelin star when Hélène Darroze's hidebound Connaught extravagance has two says more about French bias than Bains.”

The Guardian’s Matthew Norman enjoys wonderful flavours at affordable prices at Terroirs in the capital.

The critic says of the restaurant: “The sole emotion should be unconstrained joy, yet the delight is tempered by the sadness that only London has one, and that those of you in Belfast, Bristol, Glasgow, Cardiff, Norwich, Liverpool and every other city and town do not.
