Motherwell win for Aramark division
Catering Alliance, a subsidiary of Aramark after its takeover earlier this year, has won the contract to cater for the Motherwell College of Further Education. The contractor will provide food services to the student restaurant, halls of residence and new coffee bar as well as providing vending services and upgrading the staff restaurant and shop. Turnover will be about £500,000 a year and Catering Alliance will serve more than 2,500 students and staff. The contract starts in August.
Microsoft retains Baxter and Platts
Baxter and Platts has renewed its contract with software company Microsoft in a three-year deal with annual turnover of £2.7m. The contractor has provided catering to Microsoft for four years across two sites in Thames Valley Park, Reading, and Soho, London. The new contract will see Baxter and Platts providing catering services to more than 3,000 employees, including the management of a staff restaurant, four cafés, a shop, hospitality and vending at Microsoft's UK headquarters in Reading, and a café, hospitality and vending in Soho. Baxter and Platts is a division of Compass Group.
KBR chooses Aramark for coffee service
Aramark has signed a new deal with support services company KBR Production Services to provide coffee and deli-bar services for 1,000 people at the company's newly refurbished facilities in Dyce, Aberdeen. The five-year contract has an estimated turnover of £300,000 a year.
Half a million catering investment at NEC
NEC Group Catering, which runs the catering service at the national exhibition centre in Birmingham, is to invest more than £500,000 in its facilities. Most of the money is being ploughed into the NEC Arena Suite, mainly used for pre-show dining, which will grow from 300 to 420 seats.
