Monday 27 June 2005 12:15

Famous thespian haunt St James’s Club and Hotel in London has been snapped up by a group of property investors in a £20m scoop.

The club located in the heart of London was set up in 1980 by millionaire businessman Peter de Savary with honorary committee members Sean Connery and Michael Caine and has been a favourite with film stars ever since.

It was relaunched as a hotel in 2004/05 with 13 suites and 43 rooms.

Purchasing company Elanway was set up for the deal by investors Gary and Alan Landesberg and David and Elliot Rosenberg, who also owns Folio Hotels through associate company Leverguide.

Folio Hotels’s director Nicholas Crawley confirmed the club would join the group’s five-strong estate, which includes the Richmond Hill and Richmond Gate hotels.
