Oak-aged cider from Wychwood Brewery

Green Goblin ciderHobgoblin, the premium strong, dark ale produced by Oxfordshire's Wychwood Brewery, has a new sibling in the form of Green Goblin, an oak-aged cider that uses traditional methods to produce an authentic alternative to ciders matured in "paltry plastics or sterile stainless steel".

Wychwood has teamed up with Somerset's Thatchers Cider to produce the 6% abv fruity, full-flavoured, bittersweet tipple made from English cider apples - especially Somerset Redstreak and Dabinett from the West Country - which is matured in 100-year-old oak barrels to produce the distinctive flavour before being cold filtered, pasteurised and carbonated.

The cider - which is being promoted by a tongue-in-cheek, highly un-PC campaign titled "So oak-aged it's barking" - carries a wholesale price of £7.95 (excluding VAT) for a case of 6 x 500ml bottles.

To buy it, call 01993 890 800
