
Hotels in the South West of England saw revenue per available room (revpar) drop by 4.4% during the month of April.
Revpar fell to £47.36, down from £49.52 in April 2005, according to figures from hotel benchmarking service The Bench.
Although occupancy grew by 0.2 percentage point to 75.2%, this failed to offset a 4.6% decline in average room rate to £63, compared with £66.03 in April 2005.

The Bench - which is partnered with US firm Smith Travel Research - provides online benchmarking data for in excess of 34,000 hotels in more than 400 markets.
The online service allows users to track their performance in average room rate, occupancy and revpar in a variety of formats and to measure their daily performance against their competitors.
