
Hotels in the North West of England boosted revenue per available room (revpar) by 6.4% during the month of May.
Revpar rose to £51.89, up from £48.77 in May 2005, according to figures from hotel benchmarking service The Bench.
Occupancy grew by 4.4 percentage point to 78.3% while average room rate increased by 0.4% to £66.29, compared with £66.01 in May 2005.

The Bench - which is partnered with US firm Smith Travel Research - provides online benchmarking data for in excess of 34,000 hotels in more than 400 markets.
The online service allows users to track their performance in average room rate, occupancy and revpar in a variety of formats and to measure their daily performance against their competitors.
