
Hotels in the West Midlands saw revenue per available room (revpar) fall by 4.9% during the month of July.
Revpar dropped to £40.33, down from £42.41 in July 2005, according to figures from hotel benchmarking service The Bench.
Occupancy declined by 2.4 percentage points to 66% while average room rate decreased by 1.5% to £61.06, compared with £61.98 in July 2005.

The Bench - which is partnered with US firm Smith Travel Research - provides online benchmarking data for in excess of 34,000 hotels in more than 400 markets.
The online service allows users to track their performance in average room rate, occupancy and revpar in a variety of formats and to measure their daily performance against their competitors.
