The King’s Head country pub in Herefordshire has been bought by Sally Whistace, a first-time buyer from Stewkley in Buckinghamshire.
The former coaching inn, which dates back to the 16th century, occupies a four-acre site in the village of Docklow and fronts the main A44 between Leominster and Bromyard.
It attracts trade from tourists, locals, ramblers and anglers drawn to the seven small lakes half a mile away which host year-round fishing competitions.
The King’s Head incorporates a main bar with areas for games and dining, a 32-seat restaurant in a converted barn, and a three-bedroom owners’ accommodation
The Bristol office of Christie + Co was seeking offers in the region of £315,000 for the freehold on behalf of the retiring former owners, David and Iris Nevey.
