Kilfinan hotel

English teachers Andrew and Helen Wyatt from Edinburgh have bought the Kilfinan hotel, a country-style hotel and roadside inn near Tighnabruaich, Argyll.

The new owners hope to attract additional business in the former of international guests keen to study business English with their hosts while enjoying the rural, West Coast Scottish countryside.

The three-star hotel, which dates back to 1760, is located on the Cowal Peninsula with views of Loch Fyne and the Kyles of Bute.

The property offers 11 bedrooms to sleep 22 (of 10 are en-suite), a 22-seat restaurant, a cocktail bar, a snug bar, a function room for up to 50 people, and a terraced garden crossed by a small stream.

Accommodation accounts for 28% of sales, with food and drink each contributing 36% of turnover.

Adjoining is a three-bedroom family house with sitting room, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom.

The Glasgow office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the freehold off a guide price of £385,000.
