David and Caroline Cashmore from Worcestershire are the new owners of the Glazebrook country house hotel in South Brent, Devon.

The Victorian property which once served as a gentleman’s residence occupies a five-acre site (complete with its own cesspit and large paddock) that overlooks Dartmoor and is strategically placed mid-way between Exeter and Plymouth.

It offers 11 en-suite bedrooms (three with four-poster beds), a 70-seat restaurant and a 40-seat dining room, along with a function room for up to 80 customers and a smaller conference room to hold 20.

The owners’ facilities include two bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom and a kitchen on the first floor and a private sitting room on the ground floor.

The Plymouth office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the freehold off a guide price in excess of £895,000 on behalf of Alan and Maggie Davey.
