Vince Power, the creator of the Mean Fiddler Group, is launching a bar and club empire, the Vince Power Media Group (VPMG).
Power sold the Mean Fiddler Group to US giant Clear Channel Entertainment and Irish Firm Gaiety International for £37.9m in April. He plans to use the proceeds to open a string of live music bars and clubs across Europe.
The entrepreneur last month sold his Mayfair restaurant, the Berkeley Square Café, to A-Z Restaurants shareholder John di Stefano. The restaurant has not joined the A-Z group.
In a simultaneous deal, Power bought A-Z's pizza and pasta restaurant, Spiga, on Wardour Street in Soho, and will open his first new project, a high-end nightclub called Camouflage, in the basement early next month. Power will continue to operate Spiga unchanged.
VPMG's second project will be 10 West - a new lounge bar on the former site of Ion bar in Ladbroke Grove. It will open on 15 November and be designed by Shaun Clarkson.
In January, Power plans to open Pigalle, a restaurant and live music venue based on the supper clubs of the 1950s. The 350-capacity site on Piccadilly will have a 4am licence.
Plans for next year include new projects in Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and Valencia.
