Atmosphere Bars & Clubs to spend £1m on Bedford bar

Atmosphere Bars & Clubs is to spend over £1m to create a new venue in Bedford, called Modello Bar & Kitchen.

The Mediterranean-influenced bar and restaurant will occupy the former site of the New York New York nightclub, and is expected to create 17 jobs.

It will launch on 15 November and will be open from 10am daily, offering Illy coffee and pastries and croissants.

It will also offer pizzas starting from £6.95 from an open kitchen complete with a wood-fired oven.

Work to transform the site, alongside Bedford-born architect Dominic Taylor from Burlington Construction, began in September. Oak flooring has been laid throughout the venue, which will cater for up to 110 covers.

Managing the site will be Ronnie Singh who has been managing the Modello Bar & Kitchen in Watford. "I'm delighted to be able to bring Modello Bar & Kitchen to Bedford where I'm confident it will be a successful addition to Bedford's business community," he said.
