Spanish chef Omar Allibhoy to launch second Tapas Revolution at Bluewater

Spanish chef Omar Allibhoy is set to open a new Tapas Revolution restaurant at the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent.

The new site will mark the second outlet for Allibhoy, who opened his first restaurant at Westfield in White City, west London, last year.

Tapas Revolution will launch at Bluewater on 14 November, offering a menu of authentic Spanish tapas dishes. It will be located in the Plaza, which reopens next month following a major redevelopment linking Bluewater's Thames Walk to the forthcoming Events Venue set to open towards the end of the year.

Commenting on the new launch, Allibhoy said: "Bluewater is a great location to open our next Tapas Revolution and I'm sure our visitors will experience what it's truly like to eat at an authentic tapas bar."

He added: "It's always been important for me to show the British public quality but affordable Spanish food and I believe Tapas Revolution achieves just that. Opening a second tapas bar is a great opportunity to continue spreading the word about great Spanish tapas."

The new restaurant will be designed by DesignLSM and feature an open-plan kitchen, a square 30-metre pewter bar and red leather booths.

Allibhoy, who trained with Ferran Adrià at the iconic El Bulli restaurant in northern Spain and previously worked as head chef at El Pirata de Tapas in Notting Hill, will source his ingredients from small producers in Spain.

Spread over two levels, the Plaza at Bluewater will feature a cinema and 10 restaurants occupying more than 43,000 sq ft, including a new branch of Jamie's Italian and Thomasina Miers' Mexican restaurant group Wahaca.
