Hathaway’s gets new owner
Hathaway’s Restaurant in the village of Dunster in West Somerset has been sold for fairly close to its £375,000 asking price. The 16th century property, previously two cottages, has a main restaurant to seat 24 and a smaller restaurant to seat 16. Two-bedroom owner’s accommodation is included. Buyers Sandro Di Campli and his wife previously ran a restaurant in Bridgwater, Somerset. Christie & Co was the agent.
Potters move into Bath
Cranleigh, a bed-and-breakfast hotel in Newbridge Hill in Bath, Somerset, has been sold for close to £695,000. The nine-bedroom property has a two-bedroom flat for the new owners, Colin and Denise Potter. This is a first-time buy for the Potters, although Denise has trained in hotel management. Norfolk pub to trade as Chinese restaurant
The Cock Tavern in the village of West Winch, Norfolk, has been sold for very close to £300,000. Buyer Mr Su, a local businessman from nearby Thetford, plans to refurbish the pub and open it as a Chinese restaurant. The property has a lounge bar to seat 50, a 36-seat restaurant, a patio to seat a further 36 and three-bedroom owner’s accommodation. Christie & Co was the agent.
Doctor buys Welsh hotel
The three-diamond Northwood Hotel, a 12-bedroom property in Rhos-on-Sea, Clwyd, has been sold for very close to £265,000. The bed-and-breakfast hotel has a 26-seat dining room, a bar and a three-bedroom owner’s flat. The buyer is Dr David Morgan from London. Christie & Co was the agent.

The Ring O’Bells pub in Chagford, Devon, has been sold for £435,000. The property has five letting bedrooms and a 16-seat dining room. Buyers Gordon Adams and Sharon Wegener are new to the trade. Robert Barry & Co was the agent.
