Former two-Michelin-starred chef John Burton Race, whose adventures in France are currently being televised on Channel 4, is back in the UK and looking for a new project.

Burton Race moved his family to a farmhouse in south-west France last year having closed down his restaurant at London's Landmark hotel in December.

In the five weeks since his return from France, John Burton Race has already looked at a couple of restaurants and a country house hotel and is talking to a number of companies with plenty of premises. Although he is seeking a property in the countryside, Burton Race said it would be "within spitting distance" of London.

"I love cooking and I will get back into it," he said. "I have some ideas, but it won't be in London." Although he wants to stay in the UK, Burton Race also hinted at a possible project in France.
