The Royal Horseguards, the five-star flagship London property of Guoman Hotels, has joined marketing and sales consortium, the Preferred Hotel Group.

Guoman Hotel Management, which operates the luxury Guoman brand alongside Thistle Hotels, hopes the new partnership will drive international business through Preferred Hotels & Resorts website, directories, magazines and member database.

The 281-bedroom property is now one of just three London hotels listed under the Preferred Hotels & Resorts brand, joining the Lanesborough and the Plaza on the River.

The invitation to join Preferred’s luxury collection of 185 properties worldwide follows a £16.3m investment on refurbishing the bedrooms at the Royal Horseguards since it joined Guoman in February.

Jon Beecroft general manager at the Royal Hourseguards, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be part of the Prefered Hotels Group; it underlines all our hard work in striving for the highest possible standards of service for our guests.

“We look forward to the hotel growing in reputation and stature through the additional sales, revenue and marketing support from the Preferred team.”
