Jerry Brand: the beginning of an exciting year of growth for Host

Host, the independent contract caterer run by entrepreneur Jerry Brand, has won three new contracts with a total value in excess of £3m.

The first of two new education wins is a five-year deal at Box Hill School in Dorking, Surrey which sees Host take over the £450,000 a year contract from incumbent Holroyd Howe

A second education award sees Host provide catering at independent Redhouse School in Stockton-on-Tees, Teeside. As a sports-orientated school, part of Host’s remit will be to improve the quality of packed lunches offered to pupils playing away matches.

The £180,000 a year contract, taken over from Compass, is to run initially for 18 months with a view to extension.

Host has also secured a three-year business and industry contract to feed the 400 staff at the Coventry head office of building supply company Jewson. The deal, worth £200,000 a year, was won from Graysons Hospitality Associates.

Brand said: “We are delighted to start 2010 by gaining these three contracts. This is the beginning of an exciting year of growth for Host.

“We have come through the worst of the recession, strengthening the business as a result and now it’s time to move forward and expand into new regions and new areas of business.”
